This afternoon excursion offers a unique introduction to life in the Amazon and the region’s emerging bioeconomy — the perfect experience for the soft light of late afternoon.
Departing from Belém’s port, we sail across the Guajará Bay, part of the vast Amazon delta, observing the daily rhythm of the ribeirinhos — river people who live in harmony with the forest and water.
A local family welcomes us into their riverside home to share an authentic Amazonian café da tarde (afternoon coffee) featuring tropical fruits, pupunha, tapioca, fresh-brewed coffee, cakes, bread, and juices made from rare regional fruits.
Afterwards, a short jungle walk reveals the uses of native plants and the local knowledge that sustains life in the rainforest.
