Favela Hiking Tour

For a better understanding of the sociological context of the Brazilian society a visit to a favela is not to be missed. With this visit you will have an inside view of the neighborhood daily life, social organization, understand how the sewage system, water, electricity, housing, architecture works, in a maze of stairs and alleys and more, all accompanied by a local guide resident of the favela. The visit of the favela Pavão-Pavãozinho, which lies between Ipanema and Copacabana, is all done on foot and by the time you slowly ascend the views gets even more impressive by seeing Rio from a different angle. Arriving at the top of the hill the walk continues down a path through the forest, which offers even more stunning views. Before the end of the tour we make a stop in a community based restaurant for a delicious lunch.
