Taste of Amazon Experience Nordic Delegation

Experience the magic of the Amazon at late afternoon — the perfect way to finish your day in Belém

Departing at 15:00 from the Ruy Barata Hydro Terminal, you’ll glide across the calm waters of the Guajará Bay as the sky begins to glow with the first light of day. Soon, you’ll reach Parrot Island (Ilha dos Papagaios), where hundreds of curica parrots (Amazona amazonica) fill the sky with sound and color — an unforgettable natural spectacle that only happens at dawn.

Afterwards, visit a local ribeirinho (riverside) family who will welcome you into their home for a traditional Amazonian afternoon coffee made with fresh regional ingredients — tapioca, pupunha, tropical fruits, cakes, and freshly brewed coffee.
Your visit directly contributes to the local economy, generating income for the host family and community members who preserve and share their culture.

A short forest walk around their property reveals the incredible biodiversity of the region. Your guide will introduce you to medicinal and edible plants and explain how riverside families use them sustainably — a living example of the Amazon’s bioeconomy in practice.

This experience combines nature, community, and sustainability, creating real benefits for local families, guides, and boat drivers who depend on responsible tourism to protect their way of life.
